Verify Facts in an AI-Assisted Draft

Treat the draft as a starting point for checking.

The useful starting point

An AI-generated paragraph can sound polished while including an unsupported date, quotation or reference. Fluency does not establish factual reliability. Before publishing, identify the statements that readers are expected to rely on and check their evidence.

A small step to try

Create a short claim list and consult primary sources for names, dates and technical details. Remove a quotation you cannot verify rather than preserving it because it sounds plausible. Keep your own explanation distinct from the source’s finding. Record unresolved questions and reduce the scope when needed. Editorial review should follow the actual content, not merely accept the draft’s confident tone.
