Generated Illustrations Are Not Evidence

Label the visual according to how it was produced.

Independent technology and communication journal · October 7, 2026

Cream envelopes and blank note cards with abstract blue details; a fictional editorial illustration.

The useful starting point

An editorial image can help introduce a subject without documenting a real person, service or event. A realistic generated scene still belongs to the illustrative category. Its appearance should not be used as evidence of a completed job or functioning interface.

A small step to try

Keep the image’s role clear in its alternative text and surrounding explanation. Use actual screenshots or documented photographs when the claim depends on a real state, and retain their context. Do not add a measurement scale or historical attribution to a fictional image. The illustrations in this journal are visual introductions, not records of a named company’s technology or operations.
