The useful starting point
An abbreviation familiar inside a team may be unfamiliar to a new reader. Repeatedly expanding it in every sentence can also make a draft cumbersome. Think about the reader and the point at which the term first becomes necessary.
A small step to try
Use the full expression at first meaningful use and show the abbreviation if it will recur. Remove shorthand that appears only once and adds no value. For a technical term with several meanings, explain the meaning used in this context. The aim is not to replace every specialised word, but to reduce the guessing needed to understand the message’s actual instruction.
