Panvel – Karjat Local by March 2025, 5th Subburn Corridor of Central Railway

MRVC started work
Mumbai: Because of the rapidly growing population of Mumbai-MMR (Mumbai), the suburban rail route is being expanded rapidly for the convenience of the passengers. Nerul Kharkopar-Uran is expected to open this fourth local corridor by next year.
The target is, while the work of connecting Panvel directly to Karjat local is being done through MRVC. Local service from Panvel station on the Harbor route to Karjat station of Central Railway may take 4 years to start. Panvel to Karjat new double line under MUTP-3 The work has been started.
It is noteworthy that Panvel to Karjat is a single track, which is used for long-distance trains or goods trains. To reach Karjat or Panvel, local travelers have to travel via Thane or Kurla. It takes a long time to reach both places by road. At the start of Karjat, direct locals from Panvel Lakhs of people will benefit from this.
2783 crore project

CSTM – Panvel – Karjat Local Update
The work of MRVC’s Panvel Karjat local track has started. The target is to complete the work by December 2024. Local service can start in March 2025. There will be 58 small and big bridges on this route of 28 km. 2783 crore has been planned by Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation to connect Panvel directly with Karjat.
There are projects worth 10 thousand 947 crores under MUTP-3. Of these, Rs 2 thousand 783 crores will be spent for the double track from Panvel to Karjat.
Approved in December 2016
By the way, MUTP-3 was approved only in December 2016. Under this, the work of double track from Panvel to Karjat including Kalwa Airoli elevated road, Virar to Dahanu track included. According to MRVC officials, there was some problem regarding the land acquisition of the Panvel-Karjat track, but now it has gone away.
There has also been a delay due to Corona. After the survey, now the notification has been issued. Work on the ground label has started at many places.
There will be 5 stations
Panvel, Chowk, Mohape, Chikhle, and Karjat will be built between Panvel and Karjat. There will be 3 tunnels on this route, while the longest bridge will be 2.5 km. This multipurpose rail corridor will connect these three taluks of Panvel, Khalapur, and Karjat in the Raigad district.
Due to this corridor, the real estate around Mohape, adjacent to the old Panvel and the old Mumbai-Pune Road, is expected to rise the most. On the one hand, due to Nhava-Sheva Sagar Setu and Navi Mumbai International Airport, large-scale investment is being done here.
Hiranandani, Wadhwa, Godrej, India bulls, Mahindra, and Adani are expected to change the entire map by doing a lot of development at this place. Mahamumbai is going to settle here inside Naina. Due to this, the real estate sector here will have a more-than-expected boom. Only a house will not be built here, the house of dreams will be built.
