Free ChatGPT Users Can Now Generate Images

OpenAI broadens access to its DALL-E 3 image generator though there is a rigid limit on how many visuals users can create

After being hidden behind a paywall, users of Free ChatGPT can now utilize the chatbot to create photos.
Previously, users who subscribed to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise premium services could only access OpenAI‘s DALL-E series of picture generating models.
The chatbot can now be used by free users to make personalized photos.

ChatGPT free users now have access to the most powerful of OpenAI’s image models, DALL-E 3, which offers high-quality visual outputs and the ability to understand nuance from inputs.

However, there is a catch: they’re limited to just two images per day.
It’s the latest update to the free version of the chatbot after OpenAI announced in June that it would be widening access to previously locked-away features, including the ability to create your own GPTs and more intuitive vision and voice capabilities.

ChatGPT doesn’t even require signup anymore either with OpenAI saying earlier this year it wants to “make AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities.”
Want more than just two images? You’ll have to pay, with ChatGPT Plus costing $20 a month.
There is however a wide variety of free image generation tools available, with other options including Adobe Firefly, Runway, open source option Midjourney and Microsoft Designer‘s Image Creator.
